In order to actively promote the “Mid-term Plan for Encouraging International Students to Come to and Remain in Taiwan,” the Ministry of Education continues to strengthen the employment counseling mechanism for international students. The “International Student Employment Guidance Lectures and Job Fair Series for Staying in Taiwan” was organized by the Study in Taiwan (SWIT Office) under the Ministry of Education and held in the northern, central, and southern regions of Taiwan from April to May 2026. The program aims to help international students better understand Taiwan’s job market, identify career development directions, and enhance their opportunities to remain in Taiwan for employment after graduation.
This year’s series of events was hosted by National Taipei University of Technology, National University of Tainan, and National Taichung University of Science and Technology. It brought together many universities across Taiwan and more than 100 participating companies, covering industries such as technology, semiconductors, manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, food and beverage services, and other general sectors, offering more than 1,500 job openings in total and attracting a large number of international students.
Among them, the southern regional event was held at National University of Tainan, bringing together 42 companies and resources from 10 universities, and providing more than 400 job opportunities. Through activities such as company recruitment, resume screening, career counseling, and thematic seminars, the event served as an important platform for connecting international talent with enterprises.
Many leading companies participated in the event, including Wistron, ASE, Nanya Technology, Siliconware Precision Industries, 7-Eleven, Lion Travel, and Hi-Lai Foods, among others. In addition to offering a wide range of job opportunities, companies also engaged in face-to-face communication and on-site interviews with international students, helping them better understand industry needs and corporate culture. Most companies stated that international students possess strong language skills, cross-cultural advantages, and excellent work attitudes and professional performance. Therefore, they are willing to provide internship, part-time, and full-time job opportunities to support outstanding international talent in developing their careers in Taiwan.
In addition, the Ministry of Education has integrated cross-ministerial and industry-academic resources, inviting 104 Job Bank and industry experts to serve as career advisors, providing one-on-one resume review and career consultation services. The program also arranged seminars on Taiwan’s employment regulations, resume writing skills, and job-search strategies to help students better prepare for employment and enhance their competitiveness in the labor market. According to feedback statistics, most participating students reported that they had found companies or positions of interest and had submitted resumes or continued follow-up communication, demonstrating the positive impact of the program in promoting international students’ employment in Taiwan.
Kun Shan University also actively cooperates with the Ministry of Education and the SWIT Office, continuously promoting career counseling and employment support measures for international students. The university encourages students to participate in job fairs and industry networking activities, helping them connect with industries during their studies, gain practical experience, and enhance their competitiveness in Taiwan’s job market in the future, thereby achieving the integrated talent cultivation goal of “Study – Internship – Employment.”
